Lets Get Shabby Challenge #49

This months challenge at Lets Get Shabby  is to select one of the "seasonal" pictures below and use it as your inspiration to create. You can find all the details on how to play along HERE.
Sadly this is my last project for Lets Get Shabby as a DT member. I have been with the team since October 2010. Wow ! and have absolutely loved every minute of it. Mandy and Julie have always come up with new and different inspiration ideas and have been so easy going, organised, warm and friendly that the time has slipped by with me hardly realising how long it's been. Thank you girls ! Thanks for having me, I have loved my time creating at Lets Get Shabby.

The photo representing Autumn was an easy choice for me. I love the depth of colour that nature can create in Autumn, it is my favourite season....the oppressive heat of summer is replaced by cool, crisp evenings and the dusty, faded, bleached colours of summer are replaced with deep rich hues that are like a last hurrah before the colourless greys of winter.

Thank you for taking the time to visit today. The seasons and weeks are going by way too fast...may you find time in your busy days to see where nature is at; take a minute, and appreciate it.

A Mixed Media Color Challenge #5

Played along with A Mixed Media Color Challenge again. It is the best promp and inspiration for me to get out my Art Journal and just have fun...and inks, paints stamps and masks make me very happy. I'm a bit late getting this one done but could not resist these colours. Seem to be on a bit of a Paisley  theme at the moment ( just an old hippie at heart ).

Thank you for visiting me today. I hope the rest of this week is full of colours that bring you peace and make you happy.

A Peek At Paris

Is this one of my fondest memories of Paris.....French Champagne and French Onion Soup ? Maybe, they were certainly the best I have ever had !

Yes, cheesy and touristy and this photo looks like a post card ( can assure you it is my photograph ) but well worth visiting. A beautiful local girl who went to ballet school with my daughters has been dancing at The Moulin for the last 4 years and gifted us tickets to the show. It was a fantastic nights entertainment !

Just one of many very wonderful small bakeries, producing the most delicious breads and pastries. Is it any wonder that we love all things French when every thing they make is done with immense pride and so much attention to detail.

Condemned in its time as an eyesore, called both a "belfry skeleton" and a "truly tragic street lamp" and described by Guy de Maupassant as a "high and skinny pyramid of ladders....which just peters out into a ridiculous thin shape like a factory chimney", this amazing metal masterpiece, the Eiffel Tower, is today, the most beloved symbol of Paris.

Of course we ate plenty of these....this is the chocolate variety.

The very beautiful Pont Alexandre 111. So typical of elegant French style with its iconic Art Nouveau lamps and rich gilded statuary of cherubs, nymphs and winged horses. I could not believe how the gold  stood was so intense, almost as though it had been lit from within.
These are the last photos I will be posting on my trip to Paris last December. Such a very beautiful and truly unique city, I can not wait to go there again !
Thank you for visiting today. Hope the week ahead is full of happy surprises.

Scrap Around The World..........August Challenge #4

Another beautiful moodboard and sketch have been created for this months challenge at Scrap Around The World.
Hop on over to the Scrap Around The World blog HERE for ALL the details on how to play along as well as all the fabulous inspiration from the DT.
Reveal # 4 from Scrap Around The World Designer Eila Sandberg together with
an unusual sketch from our resident sketch designer, Jules McKenna-De Lumen!

The beautiful hair piece with the leaf shapes & the little twig with pink buds & pale blue & peach coloured feathers were what I noticed first on the mood board. I've used a feather mask with texture paste and a Prima blossom twig to partly circle my photo along with canvas mistable leaves. The sketch, with all it's circles, was wonderful to work with & opened up so many possibilities! I interpreted it with paper circles, chipboard and a gorgeous Prima clock!!
